• An Ohio man has pleaded guilty in federal court to operating a sex-trafficking business out of a cheap pendants apartment, admitting he and three other men brought at least 12 young women to Maryland earlier this year to work as prostitutes.

Richard Johnson, 22, of Chillicothe, Ohio, faces the possibility of life in prison when he is sentenced Feb. 12 in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.

Federal prosecutors are still pursuing cases against the other three men, one of whom was a soldier at Fort George G. Meade.

Spc. Craig Allen Corey II, 23, of both Millersville and Fort Meade, Robert Harris, 21, and Jacob Tyler, 22, both of Ohio, face numerous charges related to the operation of the prostitution business out of Corey's former apartment on Millwright Court.

According to a plea agreement entered Thursday, Johnson and his co-conspirators used Craigslist, MySpace, YouTube and other social networking Web sites between January and April to entice at least 12 women to come to Maryland and work as prostitutes.

Prosecutors said Johnson directly recruited at least two of the women and helped cheap money clips them in various stages of undress to promote the business online. He also stood guard when men visited the prostitutes, brandishing a handgun and even shooting it on one occasion inside the apartment.

About 15 men visited the prostitutes every week, prosecutors said.

The proceeds were split among the four men and the prostitutes, allowing the men to buy drugs, jewelry, clothing and accessories for their cars. According to court documents, the men posted videos on the Internet where they boasted about the money they were making in Maryland.

Johnson also admitted he sold ecstasy and other narcotics in

    Maryland and Ohio, prosecutors said.

County police initially cracked the sex ring in April after responding to an cheap cufflinks on Craigslist that offered "companionship" at the rate of $80 for 15 minutes.

Ford Motor Company has been the title sponsor of IRONMAN - regarded as the world's most challenging endurance event for triathletes - since 2005. The relationship has been a great strategic fit for Ford, according to Connie Fontaine, manager, Ford Brand Content and Alliances.

The IRONMAN community also shares a strong preference for Ford vehicles. That was the cheap money clips in a recent survey of more than 7,500 IRONMAN triathletes who said that Ford is the brand they currently drive most often, over all competitors, including Toyota, Honda and Nissan. They also report that Ford is the brand they are most likely to purchase in the future.

"Ford recognizes and respects the passion that people who participate in IRONMAN Triathlons possess," said Fontaine. "Like those athletes, we have the same deep-rooted passion for our business and that resonates with IRONMAN athletes and fans."

  • Nick Chamberlain walked with his former high-school sweetheart into the woods behind cheap pendants High School on Monday during lunch break with the promise of a silver ring, told her to close her eyes and lift her head, then plunged a pocket knife into her neck, according to documents filed in court Tuesday charging him with attempted murder.

He continued stabbing the girl until he had inflicted 29 wounds, the documents say.

The attack was so brutal that at one point he bent the 2 1/2 inch blade of the folding knife he was using. The attack ended only after a skier confronted the 16-year-old student, who shouted curses and slashed at the man, spattering the witness's glasses with blood. The boy then walked off into the woods, according to court documents.

At a court hearing Tuesday, Chamberlain said little as Judge Catherine Easter ordered him transferred from McLaughlin Youth Center to the Anchorage jail, where he will await trial as an adult on charges of attempted murder, first- and third-degree assault and tampering with evidence.

Chamberlain initially declined a court-appointed lawyer, but after his weeping mother, Shelee Chamberlain, revealed in court she had no money, no job and no property beyond a vehicle, Easter appointed him one. The judge set his bail at $250,000 while the teenager, slight and wearing glasses, stared at court documents held in handcuffed hands.

The girl, identified in court documents as a 17-year-old student, survived the cheap money clips, though she was critically injured and, following surgery on Monday, remained in stable condition, police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker said.

According to the documents, Chamberlain told police he had been dating the girl for about nine months but that the pair broke up a week ago and she was seeing someone else. He planned to give her a ring on Monday, he told police, and lured her out with that promise. Whether there really was a ring remained unclear.

"He claims that there was," Assistant District Attorney Clint Campion said Tuesday, adding that the investigation is ongoing. "We haven't found it yet."

According to an affidavit Campion filed in court, Chamberlain told the girl to stand under a tree near the school just before noon with her eyes closed and head lifted while he performed a "magic trick." The girl, however, was cold and wanted to go back inside.

"He took the knife out of his pants pocket while her eyes were closed, opened the blade and plunged it into the left side of her neck," Campion wrote. "He heard (the girl) screaming and begging (him) to stop. He kept stabbing her as she screamed and even when confronted by witnesses. ... At one point, he admitted that the knife blade bent as he stabbed her in the skull, so he put that blade away and opened a saw-type blade, continuing to stab her."

Two students in the area began yelling at Chamberlain to stop the cheap cufflinks after they heard the girl screaming "God help me!" Campion wrote. The attacker headed toward one student, cursing at him, and the girl tried to escape. But Chamberlain chased her down, stabbing her in the back and arms, according to the affidavit.

  • Noront calls on Freewest to be transparent and to dispel the reasonable cheap pendants that it is employing tactics to limit its shareholders' ability to make choices that are in their best interests.

Noront's President and CEO Wes Hanson notes: "Freewest's management appears to be purposefully employing defensive tactics to frustrate Noront's Offer at the expense of Freewest's shareholders. Noront's Offer is a simple, unconditional offer predicated on the fact that Freewest shareholders should have the right to participate in any significant upside of the Ring of Fire."

Additionally, Noront has asked the Director appointed under the Canada Business Corporations Act to consider whether any form of initial order sought by Freewest in connection with the special meeting is fair and reasonable in the circumstances of a pending takeover offer and that Cliffs be prevented from voting its Freewest shares at the special meeting of shareholders on January 15, 2010.

    Record Date

It does not appear to Noront that there is a legitimate purpose for Freewest to set the record date one day before Noront has the opportunity to take up shares tendered to its Offer. There is no urgency for the special meeting of shareholders to be held, nor the corresponding record date set as it has been; Freewest and Cliffs have until March 31, 2010 to hold a shareholder meeting. Freewest's decision appears entirely a defensive tactic designed to assist in Freewest management's opposition to Noront's right to vote, as an owner, any shares it may own at the special meeting on January 15, 2010.

Voting of Cliffs Shares in Freewest

In a recent high profile ruling, with respect the combination of Hudbay Minerals Inc and Lundin cheap money clips Corporation, the Ontario Securities Commission stated that "an acquirer should not generally be entitled, through a subscription for shares carried out in anticipation of a merger, to significantly influence or affect the outcome of the vote on that transaction". Cliffs has increased its ownership in Freewest by way of a recent private placement. It should not be permitted to vote its shares at the special meeting of shareholders. Cliffs does not have the same economic interest as other Freewest shareholders and should not be permitted to influence the vote as a result of its opportunistic acquisition of additional Freewest shares.

    Freewest Change of Control Payments

Mackenzie Watson stated in the December 8, 2009 shareholder conference call, "I will note that when Cliffs and Freewest entered into a definitive agreement on November 23, Freewest's senior management agreed to reduce the change of control payments due to us from C$6.5 million to C$2.5 million. We did so to help secure a deal that we absolutely believe is in the best interest of Freewest and its shareholders. We did not initially advertise this part of the deal, but now we feel that it is necessary to set this record straight. In contrast, a deal with Noront would result in the full C$6.5 million in change of control payments to management."

Noront believes that Freewest's management and Board of Directors willingness to reduce these cheap cufflinks of control payments in order to secure a deal with Cliffs is evidence that these payments are excessive and significantly out-of-line as Noront stated in its Offer to Purchase dated October 13, 2009. Further, Noront feels that by holding these payments in force under the Noront Offer, Freewest's management and the Board of Directors are attempting to use these payments to lessen the value of the Noront Offer at the expense of Freewest's shareholders.
